About Cyn Tailors

I grew up looking at photo albums of fashion shows my legendary great-grandmother produced -who herself was a self-taught seamstress. She taught her daughter -my grandmother - who expertly created garments. They passed their gift down to me and today I have the ability to sew for a living.

I chose to study Fashion Management and Entrepreneurship at FIT to bring my gift into the 21st century and excel.

People often ask how long I've been sewing, and my answer is, "How long haven't I been?"

It feels like I've always known how. I learned by studying garments and understanding their construction, pattern, stitches, and material.

After graduating from FIT, I earned a certificate in Product Development to expand my business sustainably. Throughout my career, I have worked with all types of entrepreneurs in different industries - jewelry, fitness, performance arts, and hospitality. During my time in these industries, I learned how various success can be defined and how to pivot.

Today I returned to fashion with new beliefs and a truly client focused vision.

My governing belief is that fashion should have the following:

Purpose = understanding the need for a particular fashion item

Place = to ensuring the garment is versatile and can be worn anywhere

Promise = the dressmaker's duty to create an item that is loved and made with love
